Channel manager perspective fails to load due to bad host configuration

If you follow the instructions to delete a channel (http://www.onehippo.org/7_8/library/concepts/channels/hst-2-channel-manager.html), you might well end up with the channel manager perspective not loading. A host configuration pointing to a non-existent channel or mountpoint causes this problem. I think the Channel Manager should be more robust,
