Custom validation fails on Xpage documents in channel manager

Creating a new Xpage which contains custom validator within channel manager fails with 400 status code and 

{"reason":"INVALID_DATA"} 

response.
 
If you create a document of the same type in the document tree and than start editing it in the channel manager works fine and it also triggers validation properly.
