Give editors the rights to take the lock in a channel manager

Currently if a user has unpublished changes in the CM it requires that user or an admin to unlock those changes for others. For some organizations it is desired that editors have that right. This is not currently possible without a custom domain.

Moreover, what if a user just wants to take a lock onto himself? For example if someone want's to continue working on the changes someone started?
