Auto-Export enters infinite loop when creating new content source

I have the following use case:

During its installation, and Essentials plugin copies a YAML content source into the hcm-content directory of a project's repository-data/application folder. Then, I install another plugin (f.e. Blogs), which imports nodes under /content/documents/... in the repository, and which get auto-exported to the project sources. When the latter happens, auto-export chokes on the fact that there is a content source with a root path for which no node exists in the repository. Auto-export then enters an infinite loop of complaints that that node doesn't exist. (See comment below for detailed output)
