Forge External Document Picker shows wrong document version after editing

Client reports:

We use the Bloomreach Forge plugin "External Document Picker" to retrieve and show assets from an external DAM system.

This works fine, but one bug occured that doesn't seem to originate in our implementation.

When getting the document title via the overridden method ExternalDocumentServiceFacade.getDocumentTitle, the title is only correct when editing the document or after publishing it, but it is incorrect in-between.
More precisely, the plugins shows the live/published version of the document instead of the unpublished/preview one before publishing.

This only occurs in the CMS - in the channel manager and live page all assets are shown correctly. It will confuse our content editors though, as they'll think there was an error while picking an asset even though it was saved as intended.

We currently use version org.onehippo.forge.exdocpickerbase:exdocpickerbase-field:5.0.3 with com.onehippo.cms7:hippo-cms7-enterprise-release:12.6.4.
