Validation for name of rest api URL too strict

The Essentials Rest Service setup tool lets you enable the generic Content api. You can give the name of the URL for it, by default it is "api". I found that digits are not allowed to be entered here, so "api2" makes the field alarming red, without an explaniation why, and you cannot submit. But digits in a URL are no problem at all, so this validation is too strict.
