Can still save and close if required date field in compound is not filled in

reproduction:
Create a compound type including a date field that is required
Open an existing document or create a new one and add the compound field
Do not fill in the required date field
click save (and close)

expected result:

• Error is shown that date field is required and should be filled in

actual result:

• No error is shown, and the document is saved as if the field was not required
