IE8 and IE9 do not re-render component when parameters are saved

When new parameters are saved for a component in the template composer, the component should be re-rendered in the background. This re-rendering does not happen in IE8 and IE9.

Steps to reproduce:
1. use IE8 or IE9
2. start GoGreen (Community or Enterprise)
3. navigate to the English Website in the template composer
4. click 'Edit Channel'
5. click the small banner component above the three highlighted products
6. pick a new banner
7. click 'Save'

Expected: the banner component in the background immediately shows the picked banner
Actual: the banner component still shows the old banner

The new banner is saved correctly to the underlying HST configuration, but only after 'Save & Close' and 'Publish Channel', the new banner is shown in the template composer.
