Creating new namespace and commiting new document type thereafter both result in errors being reported

When you create a new namespace and you confirm the new namespace dialog the feedback message says that an error has occurred. However, the namespace does seem to be created: there is a namespace folder and a basedocument type in that new folder. When you then add a new document type in that namespace and try to commit a dialog appears with the message "javax.jcr.nodetype.InvalidNodeTypeDefinitionException: [
