In the console, removing a node, but not writing changes to repo, and then logout, does write the changes to the repository

If I remove a node, and do not 'write changes to repo' and then
click logout, I nicely get: 'There are unsaved changes. Do you want to
logout?' If I proceed the logout, and log in again, to my surprise,
the changes are saved!
