What happens if translation folder already exists

When you translate a document from say En to Fr, the interface forces you to also translate the 'not yet translated' folders. Now, I am wondering what happens if you choose for these folders names that do exist already in the other language. Thus, suppose I have

(en)
news
2009
mydoc
2008
mydoc2
(fr)
nouvelles
2009
mydoc

And this, suppose you want to create a translation for mydoc2. Now the interface 'asks' a translation for '2008'. I want to know what happens if you then choose for the translation the name '2009' : In other words, an already existing translation in French

The multi lingual support should handle these cases properly as well.
