save of new version of asset fails

After uploading a new version of an asset, saving fails. The only way to get a new version of the asset under the same name is to remove the asset and create it again.

1) I create a new asset and upload the binary in it.
2) I change the binary outside the CMS.
3) In the CMS I go back to the asset and click edit.
4) I give the name of the binary and click upload.
*) Something seems to happen: there is a wheel going.
5) I click save.
*) Nothing seems to happen.
*) The save tab does not disappear and the edit button does not reappear.
*) The binary has not changed on the site.
6) I kill the asset tab.
7) I open the asset again and click download.
*) The asset shown is the old version, not the new.
