    Description

      Freemarker 2.x doesn’t support jakarta. It’s assumed that Freemarker 3 will support jakarta, but the release date is not known as of yet. There’s not even a release candidate yet.
       
      We have a fork (here), but I’m anticipating a problem there since the guy who created the branch we based the fork from has closed his PullRequest and left this comment. 

      Essentially, the person who created this migration branch for Freemarker said that his company has abandoned Freemarker and migrated to Thymeleaf

      There's another PR open to support jakarta here

      But there's a history of them being closed after a while.
