New document dialog shows npe when name is empty

This situation should be caught before the workflow step is invoked. (i.e. the OK button should not be enabled before a name and type are present) This is not a functional issue, as the user can simply continue and is only shown a one-liner exception. (nullpointer)

This issue touches upon validation in general, so maybe the resolution should wait for the validation infrastructured scheduled for M8.
