Icons and labels missing in audience perspective

• Login to CMS
• open audience perspective and observe label and icon works as intentded.
• open channelmanager perspective open component properties and copy the variant.
• execute 'Add a characterisitic'

• observe that label and icon are not shown in interface.

Then, after having selected the item, no label is shown in the properties panel either.
