Which versions of tomcat8 does hippo 11.2.15.1 support?

We are running 8.0.33 and seeing ClassFormatException's such as

SEVERE [localhost-startStop-1] org.apache.catalina.startup.ContextConfig.processAnnotationsJar Unable to process Jar entry [module-info.class] from Jar jar:file:/usr/local/applications/hippo11/tomcat/tomcat8/webapps/cms/WEB-INF/lib/txw2-2.3.1.jar for annotations
org.apache.tomcat.util.bcel.classfile.ClassFormatException: Invalid byte tag in constant pool: 19
