IE11: Menu Editor expands to full width while editing

On IE at medium resolutions (not full screen on these widescreen dells) if you edit a menu item it most likely will expand to 100% of the page. This is some weird behavior for only IE11 and these resolutions.

I tried pulling out the md-card-content and the behavior still exists so it is not a result of the flexes in there. I can't quite figure out what is causing it. It may be something we specifically did or it may be a flexbox issue with IE 11 or an angular material bug for IE 11. Not sure.

Does not happen on chrome at all.
