Editing a page in a channel sometimes jumps back to the home page

When editing a page in the channel manager, the UI sometimes jumps back to the home page instead of showing the current page in 'edit' mode. This does not always happen, but often enough to be quite annoying.

Steps to reproduce:
1. select a channel from the list of channels in the 'Channels' perspective
2. navigate to another page than the home page
3. click 'Edit' to edit that page

Expected: the same page is opened in 'edit' mode, and shows the containers and items in those containers
Actual: sometimes the channel manager jumps back to the home page of the channel, and then opens the home page in 'edit' mode. A user then has to navigate to the right page again in order to edit it.
