Application seams to keep file handles open after deleting temporary files

as mentioned in 

we delete zip files after import. The plugin deletes them and the OS is not longer showing them in the directory. But unfortunately they are kept in the proc file system until a tomcat restart which leeds to various problems (open file handles, disk space)
