Component properties box does not persist unchecked checkbox value of default variant

When a component has a boolean property value, it is rendered in the template composer's componetn property box as a checkbox. When such is checkbox is unchecked for the default variant, the value is not persisted.

Steps to reproduce:
1. start Go Green Ent.
2. navigate to the English Channel in the channel manager
3. click 'Edit Templates'
4. select the Banner component on the home page
5. select the 'default' variant
6. check the 'hide' parameter and click Save (note how the checkbox remains checked after saving)
6. uncheck the 'hide' parameter and click Save

Expected behavior: the checkbox is unchecked after save
Actual behavior: the checkbox remains checked after save
