Saving only occurs after clicking the button twice

1) I open a document for editing.
2) I click the save button.
3) The Hippo starts 'runing'
4) The Hippo stops running, but the save button is still there, i.e. the editor is apparently still open.
5) I click the save button again.
6) Now saving occurs successfully.
