Tiger Sprint 165
Description
When using Chrome on Windows 10, the component properties dialog does not open sometimes. It does not always happen, but once you're button by this issue it's very persistent. And very annoying, since you cannot configure or delete any component anymore. Various Hippo trainees have experienced this issue when working with 12.0.0. cdekort also experiences this issue sometimes on her Windows 10 laptop. She also showed it quite some time ago in version 11, so it could be that both 11 and 12 are affected by this issue (although I would expect more bug reports from clients if that's the case).
The workaround for now is to use Firefox instead.
Steps to reproduce:
- Use Chrome on Windows 10 (issue has been seen with the latest Chrome at that point in time, version 60.0.3112.113)
- Navigate to a Channel
- Show the 'Components' overlay
- Click a component in a page
Expected: the component's properties dialog opens.
Actual: the component's properties dialog does not open. Instead the system seems to think we're dragging the component a few pixels because the 'drag' mirror appears very briefly.
My hunch is that some system-specific setting triggers this issue somehow in Chrome on Windows 10. Some ideas:
- Zoom level of the browser (e.g. not 100% but slightly zoomed in our out)
- Some common Chrome extension
- OS language
- ...
